Any changes to upcoming sessions including cancellations or time adjustments must be made prior to 24 hours of your appointment. Please email admin@oshunfamilycenter.org with any concerns about your bill. We appreciate your patience as it may take some time to investigate your inquiry.
A superbill is a document produced by our billing department to aid in private insurance reimbursement programs. On a monthly basis we will email you through our secure portal with the proper documentation for submission. Please note that a diagnosis code is required for these documents therefore if you’re looking for discretion from your employer, then this route may not be for you.
We are currently able to service Pennsylvania residents only.
Oshun Family Center has licensed, pre-licensed clinicians and clinical interns in training. Our pre-licensed clinicians are in the process of seeking licensure requirements in order to sit for the board exams. Every clinician is a master’s level clinician and has completed an advanced degree in mental health/psychology in addition to supplemental training in niche areas. Interns provided services for a reduced fee as they were learning under the supervision of the clinical director.
Any forms requested by your job or elsewhere must be completed during your regular therapy session and approved by our Clinical Director. Oshun Family Center reserves the right to decline signature to any forms requested.
Yes! We see youth starting at age 13+. Unfortunately, we do not currently treat children 12 and under or those actively involved in the judicial system or the department of human services (DHS). Children over the age of 14 will need to opt-in for consent to begin services. This is typically done with a brief phone call between the child and a member of Oshun staff.
Absolutely! We are a LGBTQ+ friendly, trans-affirming and non-binary welcoming organization. Some our our clinicians identify within the queer community so if you’re looking for someone with this expertise, just ask!

We do not currently have a clinician that specializes in substance use disorders (addiction), therefore we do not treat people actively in addiction practices. We are able to provide supplemental support for those in recovery as long as they’re involved in intensive outpatient (IOP), participating regularly in AA, NA, OA, SLAA meetings and or support from an addictions counselor.
Yes! We welcome clients from all walks of life.
We pride ourselves on matching our clients with the best therapist that will meet their needs. We don’t currently offer free consultations because 15 minutes isn’t enough to time to get to know one another. We encourage you to utilize the first session to decompress and ask all questions without being pressed for time.
If there is a certain criteria you’d like your therapist to have such as LGBTQ+ identified, religious, parenting experience etc, please let us know and we will do our best to match you accordingly.
During your first 50 min session, you should expect to virtually meet with your therapist to discuss your needs and goals for your time spent together. You will also begin to learn more about one another because therapy is a vulnerable process. Building a positive relationship is paramount for your healing journey as therapy is a vibe!
Alternative options to paying for therapy are:

If for any reason a balance has accumulated on your account, please contact admin@oshunfamilycenter.org to arrange a payment plan that will work for you. We appreciate any effort and mutual respect in attempts to settle debts. Non-payment and unwillingness to reciprocate communication will result in your account being placed in collections.
We at Oshun Family Center value and amplify the voices and experiences of members of the Black community. From personal, professional and research experience, there is empirical evidence that shows a positive impact on a provider – client relationship in regards to people who have shared lived experiences. Black therapists who possess a level of skill, training and dedication are not a match for the number of clinicians in the dominant culture which reduces accessibility. We find it important to honor those stories and experiences by matching people accordingly.
If you haven’t found the answer to your question, please feel free to reach out to admin@oshunfamilycenter.org and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
