Portraits of Presence. Stories of Legacy.
A Cultural Activation Celebrating Black Fatherhood
Oshun Family Center, in partnership with the African American Museum of Philadelphia, proudly presents Legacy in Bloom, a year-long cultural activation celebrating the stories, strength, and enduring impact of Black fathers.
At a time when public discourse and policy conversations continue to mischaracterize, diminish, and overlook the vital role Black fathers play in their families and communities, Legacy in Bloom offers a powerful counter-narrative rooted in truth, love, presence, and legacy.
Launched at the Art Sanctuary on August 1, 2026, this exhibition features intimate portraits and personal stories that honor Black fathers as caregivers, protectors, nurturers, leaders, and advocates. Through photography and storytelling, the project uplifts the lived experiences of fathers whose contributions are too often erased from conversations about family, health, and community well-being.
Exhibition will run throughout the month of August 1-28th, 2026!
